today is the first of nineteen in which i've been free from work.
the sun is out and i am in it, in-hand my favorite mug, brimming, lulled by the big rain drops that topple endlessly from leaky gutters- sending the leaves below bouncing, or ping-pang'ing off the recycled aluminum cans out back.
The air is soaked in the smell of soil and manure, and it's so still it can hardly carry the bird's voices as they sing out against the sighing sun. I can feel the world slowing, steady.. the dizziness subsiding and i am warm with this perception of simply being.
